Here are a few of my other favorite T-Tapp DVDs:

Basic Workout Plus (get a great 15-minute workout without spending an hour!)

TappCore (9 short moves, great for kids too!)

Step Away the Inches (25 minutes, great 2-mile workout)

(This post contains affiliate links.)

T-Tapp’s “Step Away the Inches” is only $11.25!

I have finally had enough of this extra weight I’m carrying around.  If you know me, you know I don’t like to exercise.  But I do know how important it is.  That’s why I’ve started up with T-Tapp again.  I did a 4-day Boot Camp of the Basic Workout Plus and have made a committment to exercise at least 5 days a week.  I love T-Tapp because it works for people like me:

*don’t like to exercise

*don’t have time to exercise

*don’t have the $$ to go to a gym

*prefer to work-out at home for lot of different reasons

The Basic Work-out Plus is awesome because you can see results doing it, and it’s only 15 minutes a day!

But the work-out I do when I don’t have much motivation is “Step Away the Inches.”  It’s a great walking work-out that will get your muscles activated and your heart rate up, and it’s only 25 minutes long for 2 miles!

If you want to read more about the T-Tapp method and why you’ll see results with shorter work-outs, be sure to read Teresa’s book “Fit and Fabulous in Fifteen Minutes!”  She explains all about comprehensive compound muscle movement, the T-Tapp stance which activates far more muscles than typical exercises, and why her exercises require concentration–not time–to see results!

Get “Step Away the Inches” for $11.25 on Tuesday 7/15/14 only for the Deep Discount Tuesday sale.  (Just click on the Deep Discount Tuesday banner!)

Or get “Step Away the Inches” and “Step it to the Max” (50 minutes) for only $20!

T-Tapp’s Premium Alfalfa on sale today!

T-Tapp’s TOP selling product, Premium Blended Alfalfa, is this month’s Deep Discount Tuesday! I’m getting this one today!

This Tuesday ONLY (6/17/14) Buy 1 bottle of Premium Blended Alfalfa and get a second bottle for FREE! LIMIT OF 3 SETS (6 BOTTLES TOTAL).

Click here to purchase: T-Tapp’s Premium Blended Alfalfa

Alfalfa is one of the few plant sources of vitamin K. It’s considered a “food”, not an herb or vitamin and it’s safe to take with any type of medication without side effects. Alfalfa also contains 8 digestive enzymes, numerous trace minerals (like calcium/magnesium) and high quantities of Vitamins A, D and E. Alfalfa is plant protein so it naturally assists the body in elimination of “puffiness” caused by water retention without depletion of body nutrients whether it be from excess carb consumption or hormonal during menstrual cycle. In fact, the American Dermatology Association clinically proved (published in May ’99) that alfalfa reverses aging of the skin of the face (however, skin is ONE organ that covers the entire body, not just the face). That’s because the nutrients in alfalfa enable the body to produce its own collagen to the level where skin can “tighten”, varicose veins can lessen and dark circles under the eyes disappear.

Alfalfa is also alkaline producing so it can help offset acid imbalance created from sugar, processed foods and/or meat. Our bodies NEED alkalinity – most of us are too acidic. Alfalfa has also been clinically proven to be anti-cancerous and as an effective anti-inflammatory without any side effects. Great for those with arthritis, joint injuries and/or muscle soreness from overuse. It really stimulates hair and fingernail growth too.

Premium Blended Alfalfa from Better Body Basics is of optimal quality, organic and pesticide free but what really makes it special is the way it has been processed so nutrients remain in tact without any alteration to protein molecular properties. That’s why you will not gain weight with Premium Blended Alfalfa. Additionally, the percentage of protein in Premium Blended Alfalfa is 25 to 27% (most good quality alfalfa is in range of 21-22%). Reason the Premium Blended Alfalfa is higher is because the crop is sprayed with ionic minerals during growth. Last of all, alfalfa can help the body with hormonal balance. Intake of alfalfa stimulates the Pituitary Gland, which in turn regulates hormone balance including internal release of Human Growth Hormone (shown in clinical studies at the National Institute of Health). You can read more about the many benefits of alfalfa on the Internet.

T-Tapp’s Premium Blended Alfalfa is safe for autoimmune diseases such as, Arthritis, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s, etc. The main reason is because our brand does not have any seeds or sprouts.

From House to Home {Link Party}: T-Tapping Again!

It’s finally summer weather here in the Chicagoland area, so I got out my shorts that I haven’t seen for 2 years (last summer I was in my post-pregnancy clothes).  They don’t fit!  Well, I can zip them, but they are definitely too tight,  so, it’s time to get T-Tapping again.

After the T-Tapp 60 Day Challenge ended a few months ago I fell off the wagon and haven’t exercised much.  I know that I need to make it a part of my daily life, not just to fit into my shorts but to help with different health challenges I have such as varicose veins, arthritis, diverticulosis, and hormonal imbalances.

So, I’m back to my favorite exercise program.  T-Tapp is named after the founder Teresa Tapp.  She has figured out specific exercises that give you the most comprehensive workout  in the least amount of time.  So, I say to myself, “Can I give 15 minutes to this today?”  There is really no excuse to say no.  I don’t have to leave the house, get a babysitter, or spend an hour on it.  I don’t even change my clothes!

The first thing I did when I first considered T-Tapp was read the book Fit and Fabulous in Fifteen Minutes.  There I learned what’s different about T-Tapp and why you can really see results with only doing a 15-minute workout.  Then I got the DVD called Basic Workout Plus.  It includes the workout straight thorough but also a slowed-down version of it explaining how to do each move.  Doing the moves correctly is crucial in T-Tapp if you want to see results.  That’s one thing that’s so different about it compared to running, biking, aerobics, etc. where you are just trying to keep moving for a set amount of time.

If you’re curious, check out the T-Tapp  Website! and try out some of the videos (“try before you buy”).  Let me know if you have any questions.  I’ll let you know next Tuesday if I have lost any inches yet!

From House to Home {Link Party}: T-Tapp 60-Day Challenge

I decided to join the T-Tapp 60-Day Challenge this year!  My goal was to lose 2 sizes, to get back into my size 6 clothes.   Look at this picture:

TTapp After 007

Yes–it’s size 6!

So, there’s good news and bad news regarding the challenge.

The good news:  I lost almost 2 sizes (can’t fit into all of my size 6 clothes, so I still have a bit more to lose), 6 pounds, and 13 inches!

The bad news:  I wasn’t as consistent with the exercising as I was hoping to be.  I began the challenge with a 7-day boot camp, which means that I did the T-Tapp Basic Workout Plus Tempo everyday for 7 days in a row.  That work-out is only 17 minutes long, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy!  The following week I did the same work-out every other day and did some other T-Tapp moves on the off days.  But after the 2nd week I only did 3 more work-outs and 3 more days of other moves for the whole rest of the challenge.

This, of course, helps you see the benefits of T-Tapp!  I still lost inches even though I didn’t do a whole lot of exercising.  One of their sayings is, “Less is More With T-Tapp.”

So, now I will continue my work-outs and getting more in shape.  If you want to learn more about T-Tapp, check out What Is T-Tapp!

Viewers will see how easy it is to just start moving and quickly it will make a difference. Collage/Journal Friday: The Hobbit and Keeping Strong to the End

Collage-Hobbit Duct Tape Weapons 2

Hands-On Project:

Over the holidays we went to see The Hobbit.  My second son was inspired by his cousins to make duct tape “weapons.”  They even wore these things to the theater to watch it!  They’re made by cutting two pieces of cardboard in whatever blade shape is desired.  Angle it over a stick, and cover the whole thing with duct tape.  (Let me know if you’re interested in a full picture tutorial.)

What We’re Reading:

What I’m reading aloud to the kids:

Tabitha’s Travels by Arnold Ytreeide.  We finally finished this advent story!

Challenge on the Hill of Fire (Imagination Station book 10, review coming soon) by Marianne Hering

Apologia Zoology 2/Swimming Creatures- Read about rays, skates, and sharks this week.

Mystery of History, Volume 2- Read about St. Augustine, St. Jerome and the Vulgate, and St. Patrick.

What I’m reading to myself:

At Home in Mitford by Jan Karon.  I’m going to read through this wonderful series for the third time!

Six Ways to Keep the “Little” in Your Girl:  Guiding Your Daughter from Her Tweens to Her Teens by Dannah Gresh

New Homeschooling Idea:

I had gotten very frustrated last semester in my kids not getting all their work done.  So, I decided that I’d write out every single page/paper/book, etc. that they should do each day of the week.  They aren’t allowed to use any electronics in the afternoon until everything on the sheet is done–and I’ve checked it.  And so far it’s working–they got all their work done this week!  And I was able to get it checked, too!

Public Speaking Class:

The speech assignments for the month of January are to do impromptus.  I think I would have freaked out if I had to do this at my kids’ ages!  (Don’t tell them!).  They did really well this week!  The way it works is this:  They are given a topic such as “On my last birthday. . . ” or “My favorite school subject is. . . .”  They have one minute to think about it.  Then they get up in front of the class and have up to 2 minutes to speak about it.

Aladdin Show:

My oldest son is in the musical Aladdin, and has started the rehearsals, which are about 45 minutes away.  It’s going to be a very busy couple of months.  He plays a Palace Guard, and I’m on the costume committee, so that should be fun!

Exercise Update:

I’m still trying to get consistent in my exercising.  I’ve only done one T-Tapp workout so far this week.  :(  I’ve had such a hard time fitting it in.  So I decided this morning that I will do it immediately after putting the baby to bed each morning.  We’ll see how that goes next week–I still need to do my 4-day boot camp.  Good news, though!  My eating habits were better, and I lost 2 pounds!

What God is Teaching Me:

I started reading 1 Corinthians this week.  I’ve decided to read it through very slowly and work on meditation–we studied about biblical meditation this week in our Worldview book Who Am I? . The verse that spoke to me most this week–and I think it will be a good focus verse for the whole year–is 1 Corinthians 1:8:

“Who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. (ESV)

Or in the NIV it says,

He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ”

2013 Goals and Resolutions: Do Hard Things

Do Hard Things!

It’s my “word” of the year.  :)  I haven’t read the book Do Hard Things yet, but heard the young men speak about it on the radio.  It’s a goal for all of us to follow–to live our lives for Christ and graciously do the hard things He has called us to.

Here are my goals and resolutions for this year.  I have to be honest and tell you that I’ve already changed my mind about some of them since last week!

wedding announcement 002

1.  My big goal for this year is to get back to my “wedding” weight.  It’s been a few years, but I’m ready to make it happen.  I need to lose 19 pounds, 2 sizes.

One way I hope to accomplish this is by joining the T-Tapp 60 Day Challenge, which starts on January 20.  I’m going to do a 4-day Boot Camp of Basic Workout Plus (started it yesterday) and then do that workout or Step Away the Inches at least every other day.  On the off days, I’ll do Hoe-Downs and OIP/HF (those exercises are found on the DVD included with Fit and Fabulous book.)

After the Challenge is over I’ll learn the T-Tapp Total Workout and Ladybug Workout, which I’ve had for a while but have never tried.  I plan to eat less fast food, desserts, and doughnuts and eat more salads, fruit, and veggies as well as drink 75 ounces of water daily.

If you want to join me in the 60-Day Challenge,–see it listed in the 2nd column on the T-Tapp website– there is still time to order a DVD or book.   Also, next Tuesday will be Deep Discount Tuesday–I don’t know what the special will be, but I’ll let you know as soon as I find out!  And if you don’t know what T-Tapp is, check out What Is T-Tapp!

2.  Stay more on top of the Cleaning and Organizing of my house, using the Motivated Moms Planner.  I’ve already been using it for a week and have really liked the easy way it tells me what to do each day!  I also want to look at my Pinterest Boards to get some more great ideas!  I absolutely love this post over at Confessions of a Homeschooler and would like to try to set up our upstairs schoolroom and our basement craft room to be more learning-friendly and organized!

Motivated Moms Planner

3.  Read the Bible daily.  I was going to read through the Bible, but that’s too big a goal for this year.  I’ll read through a book at a time, starting with 1 Corinthians.  And I pray that the Lord will grow me this year; I long to be more like Him–more patient, more kind, more loving. . .

4.  Learn how to use my new camera and Photoshop Elements.  Improve the photos here on the blog.  Fix my blog header and make a blog button.

5.  Sew my oldest daughter’s quilt (finally!) and make dresses for the four girls.  I have all the material for the quilt, but need to decide what to do for the girls.  I have lots more I’d love to sew, but I’m not going to stress if I can’t get to it this year.

6.  Teach the kids two songs with parts (performance ready).  We’ll work on singing at least twice a week.  It has always been a dream for my husband and me for our family to sing together!

I’ll post updates on how things are going.  Let me know about your goals, too!

I Choose Joy! 6-Week Fitness Challenge #1, Week 6

Photobucket

This is the last week of the challenge!  Can I do 4 work-outs this week?  I sure hope so!  Last week I did two–one should count for double since it was at the T-Tapp clinic.  I was so sore the next day!  The clinic was great, though, and I’m once again thrilled that I use this incredible mind-body work-out.  One way I could describe it is that most exercise is mindless.  You just try to work your body in a certain way (aerobics, running, walking) for a set amount of time.  T-Tapp uses very deliberate movements.  Form is extremely important, and it requires a great deal of concentration.  You get more done in less time because you work 5-7 muscle groups with every exercise.   (See the T-Tapp website for more info!)
One thing we talked quite a bit about last week was the soon-to-be-released exercise DVD called Senior Fit.  I’m so excited about it!  Finally, there will be a great way for older people to work out that is created just for them with their special needs in mind!  Teresa Tapp has spent years working on it.

Well, for our last week I want you to join me in making healthy choices this week!

Here’s a recap of our our 6-week fitness challenge: Are you ready to lose some inches and get healthier before the holidays? I am! My goal is (was) to lose 1-2 sizes by November 12.

We’re going to keep each other accountable and encourage each other to keep at it by linking up here each Monday. I know I need the challenge spirit to keep me motivated. Exercising is not my favorite thing to do! Link up your blog post telling us how you did the previous week. I’ll share how I did, as well as highlighting a few of you!

If you don’t have a blog, no problem! Just leave a comment here each Monday telling us how you did.

(Also, if you missed the start date, join in with us at any time!)

The rules:

1. Choose any exercise program and do it 4 times each week for 6 weeks (starting Monday October 1 and ending Monday November 12.). Examples of an exercise program are a DVD, gym, class, a 30-minute walk, etc. I’ll be doing T-Tapp, of course! I want the most benefits for the least amount of time invested. :) (Notice, I didn’t say the least amount of effort.)

2. Link up your blog posts each Monday with a report on what and how you did during the previous week (how many work-outs, any inches or pounds lost, benefits to your health). If you don’t have a blog, just leave a comment.

3. Bonus–Add a new healthy habit each week, such as drinking more water, eating more fresh vegetables, getting 10,000 steps with a pedometer, etc.

4. Please follow I Choose Joy! (see sidebar) so that I can remind you to come back here each week to link up your update. Also, please leave a link back here so others can join us! I’ll be posting on my Facebook page throughout the weeks to keep us all motivated — so be sure to Like I Choose Joy! (link in sidebar).

Collage Friday–Soccer, Pumpkins, and 50 Years

Photobucket

This morning, bright and early, my husband and older two sons went to a Father-Son Camp (will be highlighted in next Friday’s collage!).  So, I took the other six kids to a pumpkin farm festival.  It turned out to be so much fun!  They can’t wait to go back –next year, of course.  It was very cold today.  Thankfully the baby slept in the stroller completely covered up by my picnic quilt to keep out the cold.

This evening we went to the library to pick out some movies to watch.  Each child got one–so we have Elmo, My Little Pony, Hermie and Friends, and A Bug’s Life.  :)

1.  Last Sunday we hosted a houseful of people for my husband’s 50th birthday party.  It was such a blessing having so many people to celebrate my husband.  He received a special gift  from his parents–a photo album/scrapbook of pictures and mementos from his babyhood until now.  It gave me some ideas of what to save so I can make one for my own kids someday!  This beautiful cake was made by Lovin Oven Cakery.  See another of their cakes here.  A couple of other people gave us gifts of free babysitting–they know a good gift to give us!

3.  Update on our beautiful baby girl:  I put her in her crib at night for the first time this week.  She slept for about 4 hours.  The next morning she had a well-baby check-up.  The doctor said she weighed enough (16 pounds) to sleep 10 hours in a row–but that, of course, it was up to me if I wanted her to.  Last night she slept 8 1/2 hours!  I finally just went in and woke her up  because I needed her to nurse.  The doctor also said that she is also performing some 6-month milestones, at 4 months.  She holds herself up really well on her arms while on her tummy, rolls both ways easily, stands and sits well with support, and rakes with her hands.  I’m wondering if she’s trying to beat her oldest brother’s record of crawling the day before he turned 6 months.  No, I don’t need that record beat!

4.  My little “ballerina” girl, who loves to dress up.

5.  Upward Soccer for 3 of the kids.  I’m on my own with them tomorrow since their daddy is camping–and it’s going to be so cold!

9.  That’s one way to wipe the kitchen table!

I have been given a huge blessing this week.  I found a young lady, a recent homeschool high school graduate who hasn’t started college yet, to come and help out with the little ones in the mornings.  She is great with them!  They’ve already done crafts, play-dough, painting, reading, and played at the park.  She’s using some activities from Before Five in a Row.  And I have been able to really concentrate on my older kids’ schoolwork, which has really been a challenge so far this year.

My 2-year-old used the potty a few times.  I’m not pushing it, but am so glad that he’s showing interest!

My grain mill broke a couple of months ago, and I finally got it back yesterday.  I’ve still been making bread, but with store-bought whole wheat flour.  I’ll be glad to grind up some wheat again next week.

Exercise update:  I’ve done 2 work-outs this week and plan to exercise on Saturday and Sunday.  Next week I go to my first T-Tapp seminar!

What God’s been teaching me this week:  Encouragement and praise will yield better results than criticism and expressing disappointment.  May I remember this and practice it more and more!

1 Thessalonians 5:14   And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with them all.

And I haven’t posted a Funny Friday in a while.  Enjoy this YouTube!
