Vacation – The Beach at Kiawah Island, South Carolina

The next day we drove to Kiawah Island, SC.  What I really loved about this particular island and beach was that it was so non-commercialized.  And it was so beautiful!  We found a place to stay from Vacation Rentals By Owner (see here).  (The only hotel on the island was way out of our price range!)  It was such a great location, right on the beach.  I was able to go back with our little one to take a nap in the afternoon while the others continued playing on the beach.  At night you could see all the stars because it was so dark.  Even all of the houses/condos facing the beach were supposed to have their lights-out at 10 p.m. every night.  This was so that any hatching baby sea turtles wouldn’t get confused by the light and could make it back to the ocean.  One really interesting thing about the island was that there are about 450 wild alligators!  I was glad that the only ones we saw were these four babies:

One of the beautiful beaches in our state that we love to visit! The beach is so relaxing and calming. My favorite place to be. I unwind and let the waves take away my worries!
