I haven’t blogged anything personal in quite a long time.  I’ve been in a “survival” mode post-pregnancy that has lasted longer than the previous times.  I’m hopeful for things to get better soon, though.  I never expected seven kids to be so much more difficult than six!

Right now I’m listening my 3 oldest kids practice violins.  Kind of noisy at the moment!  But joyous.  I’m so glad they are able to take lessons and are learning Christmas duets (trios) to play in a few weeks.

A very exciting event is taking place soon.  My sister and her husband finally know who the kids will be that they are adopting for Ethiopia!  The next step is waiting for the court date to be set so they can go pick them up! Please pray for the kids’ health needs.

Another exciting event is that we are much closer to officially launching our new church!  In June our family with 2 others began meeting together for church on Sundays.  This fall we began planning the church plant.  We read 2 great books by Mark Fox called “Family-Integrated Church” and “Planting a Family-Integrated Church.”  We decided on a name last week.  I’ll let you know what it is soon!  But here is a passage from Psalm 78 that helps to give the focus of our fellowship:

I will utter hidden things, things from of old
3 things we have heard and known,
things our ancestors have told us.
4 We will not hide them from their descendants;
we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD,
his power, and the wonders he has done.
5 He decreed statutes for Jacob
and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our ancestors
to teach their children,
6 so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.
7 Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.
8 They would not be like their ancestors
a stubborn and rebellious generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,
whose spirits were not faithful to him.

We are having Thanksgiving here at my house tomorrow (30 will be here!)  I just made 4 pies: 1 cranberry-apple, 2 pumpkin, and 1 pecan.  (See the recipes in the next posts.)  Be Thankful!  The Lord is Gracious and Forgiving!  Here’s a greeting from my son:
