Institute for Cultural Communicators 064

Last year we were introduced and became involved in the Institute for Cultural Communicators (ICC). It’s a Christian speech organization, where my kids are going through curricula to teach them public speaking skills. They learn to write and present a wide variety of different kinds of speeches, work on memorizing, and get in front of many different groups. Today our chapter did a presentation at the mall. It was a difficult venue because it’s so cavernous and the mall’s PA system is playing music. But it was also really neat to be right where people were just walking by. Many stopped to listen to the kids. We had 20 kids ranging from age 7-18. Our chapter has all homeschooled kids, but that’s not a requirement. (Read more about ICC here.)

This was our program:  (The mall said we couldn’t do anything “religious.”)
