I LOVE this new missionary study from Not Consumed called To Every Nation!
I have already downloaded my copy and filled out some pages so you can see how it will work to do with your family. I think we’re going to add this to our Circle Time, when I have all my elementary kids together to work on certain subjects (like Bible, history, and science). I have used longer missionary stories and biographies that I’ve read to my kids, but one thing I love about To Every Nation is that the stories are quick reads and we can get an overview of 12 missionaries in a shorter amount of time and with some awesome notebooking pages!
Here are the 12 missionaries you’ll study:
- Hudson Taylor
- Gladys Aylward
- Eric Liddell
- Corrie ten Boom
- George Mueller
- Nate Saint
- Elisabeth Elliot
- David Livingstone
- Mary Slessor
- Amy Carmichael
- William Carey
- Adoniram Judson
What you will find in To Every Nation is:
- 103 Pages
- Beautiful graphics and designs
- 12 Different missionaries to study–each has 2 pages of their biography to read aloud
- Suggestions of different ways to use the study
- 12 Character Qualities to teach to our kids (one for each missionary)
- 6 notebooking pages for each missionary
See below examples of the notebooking pages. Be sure to download a sample over at Not Consumed.
The first page is a biographical sketch about the missionary.
Next is a geography page with a map to mark where the missionary served, facts about the country, and a flag to color.
The third page is a timeline about the missionary. It might be better to do this page horizontally.
I love this page that goes with each missionary where you study a character quality from their life and discuss ways to include that quality in your own life. The 12 character qualities are endurance, virtue, honor, forgiveness, faith, sacrifice, focus, perseverance, service, compassion, patience, contentment.
And there are 2 copywork pages of Scripture for each missionary- one in ESV and one is KJV.
