“Cells” at our new Co-op with “Exploring Creation With Human Anatomy and Physiology”
We joined a co-op this year for the first time ever! It’s every other Friday for 3 hours in the afternoon (during “nap” time), so it’s not too difficult of a commitment for us.
We’re studying Jeanie Fulbright’s Exploring Creation With Human Anatomy and Physiology. I love her books! At the co-op the kids spend part of the time doing an experiment or project to go along with the chapter we read at home. They also play a review game and work together on a model of the body from The Body Book: Easy-to-Make Hands-on Models That Teach.
The last part of the time is spent doing P.E. I’m thankful for the opportunity to teach Musikgarten (early childhood music and movement) to the preschoolers there.
Last week the kids made “cells” out of Crayola Model Magic. If you’ve never tried it, it’s like clay but not messy at all. You can color it with markers, and it dries in 24 hours. My kids love it!
