Fifteenth Year Anniversary!
Today is my 15th Anniversary! I can’t tell you how blessed I am to be married to my husband. What a wonderful day it was 15 years ago. 🙂
It was a beautiful, warm day in Fort Worth, Texas. The day started with a lovely brunch with my mom, sister, cousins, aunts, and some special friends! (My husband went to play golf. 🙂 ).
The wedding was at 4:00 p.m. and I was really nervous! I was hoping for everything to run smoothly, but there are always glitches. I wish I would have relaxed more.
My mom walked me down the aisle (since my father had passed away when I was a child). When we got up to the front she reached over to lift my veil, and we both realized we had forgotten to put it down! We almost started laughing. So, that relaxed me some.
The ceremony was very meaningful. The hymn we sang as a congregation was “Be Thou My Vision” and it remains one of my favorites. I had some friends sing “When I Fell in Love With You” by Dennis Jernigan. It’s actually talking about falling in love with Jesus. I love the symbolism of the husband and wife relationship being like Christ and His church. Finally, my sister sang “The Blessing Song” by Dennis Jernigan to bless us on our journey!
The reception was a blast! We had a big band, and I got to sing with them! I sang “Embraceable You” and “Misty.” Aw–good memories. 🙂
