Homeschool Conference, potty training update
Wow! My daughter has done great with potty training! She’s gone through a whole bag of M & M ‘s, has earned a Rosie train as a potty present, and hasn’t had an accident out in public during the numerous times we’ve been out in the last week. Yeah!
Unfortunately, my washer pump broke a couple of days ago. The part has been ordered but won’t be in until next week. So, we made a trip to the laundrymat a couple of days ago. After I got all 4 loads started, we went to Jimmy John’s sandwich shop where they were having $1 subs. We ate in the car and then went back to pick up the clothes. The thought that was a fun treat!
I’ll post some pictures of our vacation soon. We had a fun time, but I’m still recuperating! Last weekend my husband and I went to our local homeschool conference. It was my 10th time to attend! It is always so refreshing and encouraging. I brought my 10-month-old, so it wasn’t the most relaxing time, but I was still able to hear some great speakers including Ken Ham, Woody Robertson, Mike Smith, Philip Telfer and Sonya Shafer. We got the mp3’s of the whole conference yesterday, and I’m looking forward to listening to some that I missed.
One thing that was really fun at the conference was listening to the King Family Band (see website here). They play bluegrass. We also happened to hear an awesome bluegrass band while at Silver Dollar City a couple of weeks ago. Now, I’m looking into learning to play the mandolin! The band at Silver Dollar City is called IIIrd Tyme Out. As well as incredible instrumentalists, they were great singers. Here are a couple of neat youtube videos of both bands.
