Review: The Berenstain Bears Blessed are the Peacemakers
Here’s another great Berenstain Bears book written by son Mike Berenstain called Blessed are the Peacemakers.
This story is based on the verse from Matthew 5:9 where Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
The cubs are at school and we find that there are several groups who are always bickering with each other. They’re trouble-makers and tease and bully. Everyone joins in for the all-school play, though. And it’s pretty ironic that the lead girl and boy (for Romeo and Grizzliet) are from rival “gangs.” Problems continued to happen until they were actually on stage, and a fight breaks out in front of the audience! Even the parents got involved. It’s Squire Grizzly and Preacher Brown who became the peacemakers and helped everyone realized what they were doing was wrong.
The final page has “Activites and Questions from Brother and Sister Bear”
There are 3 questions to talk about with your child and 2 activities to get out and do. These help to add to the teaching of the book.
