Vacation-more pictures
I wanted to share a few more pictures and thoughts about our trip. My husband and I are so grateful that we have been able to do this the last few years. We really think it brings our family closer together and even if we adults don’t really get to “relax”, it’s still a change of pace from our typical everyday life. Lest you think that it was all fun and games, I will tell you that this time we dealt with quite a bit of car sickness, from all 3 boys. It was particularly bad the day we were leaving the Smoky Mountains and didn’t have much choice but to drive through the winding mountain roads for hours! But we got through it.
We always love to listen to stories and music while traveling. One of our all-time favorites is Jonathan Park (see here). This time we listened the the Focus on the Family version of “Horse and His Boy” by C.S. Lewis and “Farmer Boy” by Laura Ingalls Wilder. We listened to a lot of praise music and some children’s music that my little ones enjoy. And, of course, the kids got to watch a few movies on the long traveling days.
