From House to Home {Link Party}: Botanic Gardens
The weather has FINALLY become spring-like. Oh, we’ve waited so long. I really wanted to get outside on Monday, so we went to the beautiful Chicago Botanic Gardens. Because spring is so late here this year, not very many things were in bloom: no trees and only a few bulbs (daffodils and tulips), but they had planted a number of annuals, so it was still refreshing.
Enjoy the photos, and then be sure to link up a post below!
I tried to take some pretty ones, as well as those of some very unusual looking plants!
This is as close as I got to a field of wild blue-bonnets this year!
Have you read the Flat Stanley books? Here is a Flat Cousin of the kids who went with us to the gardens!
See the yellow cocoa pod below?
It’s time for our Link Up Party: From House to Home!

Gena, those were great pictures and the gardens looked awesome. I bet your children had a blast seeing all of the beautiful plants. My kids would love something like that. If we ever pass through Chicago we’ll have to make that one of our stops. These kinds of activities are great. There is a little garden like park in our area called Boxerwood Gardens. It has a natural playground for children with all of the park designed to teach kids about nature and the ecosystem, etc. We take them there regularly and it is a favorite place for local families. I wish there were more places like these.
