One of my favorite science curriculum writers is The Homeschool Scientist, and this week she is launching a brand new product: “What Makes the Weather: A Hands-On Study of Atmospheric Conditions.”
It’s only $3.99!
Here is what you’ll find in “What Makes the Weather: A Hands-On Study of Atmospheric Conditions.”

- Instructions for creating your own weather station
- Printable weather log
- Links for further study
I’ve been wanting to learn about the weather with my kids for a long time, and this will be perfect to do this summer. Some of what I really like about “What Makes the Weather” is that it has very simple activities that we can do with items we have around the house, links to videos and interactive online tools, and even a craft to do to understand clouds better. (I’ll post pictures here after we do the activities!) I also like that you don’t need to get any other books to use with it if you don’t want to. Everything to read about the topics are right there in the curriculum!
Here are some of the topics to learn about the weather:
- Temperature
- Precipitation
- Cloud Cover
- Wind
- Barometric Pressure
- Humidity
- Make a Weather Station
- Printable: Keep a Weather Log
Or get the Hands-On Science Bundle with these 3 titles:
- The Beginner’s Guide to Atoms and the Periodic Table
- Backyard Science
- What Makes the Weather
