Frozen Fizzy Easter Eggs Ingredients/Supplies
First and foremost, gather all of the necessary supplies for this activity. Ensure you have a clean and well-ventilated work area, free of distractions, and always supervise your children while conducting experiments.
- Mixing cups
- ¾ cup baking soda
- ¼ cup warm water
- Food coloring in various colors
- Egg-shape silicone mold (this one is pictured)
- Vinegar
- Shallow bowl
- Medicine squeezer (optional)
Frozen Fizzy Easter Eggs Instructions
Now onto the fun part, creating your Frozen Fizzy Easter Eggs!
- In a large mixing cup, stir together the baking soda and water until the baking soda is dissolved. Stir in your first food coloring.
- Repeat with other colors.
- Pour or spoon the mixture into the egg-shaped silicone mold and freeze overnight or until completely frozen.
- With your Frozen Fizzy Easter Eggs ready, it’s time for the exciting chemical reaction! Pour vinegar into the shallow bowl, and slowly lower your frozen egg into it. Watch as the frozen baking soda egg fizzes and bubbles, delighting your children as it dissolves.
