How to Use Essential Oils in Your Home
Hello! I am Michele Coletta, a wife, and homeschooling mom of three, also a loyal supporter of Young Living Essential Oils! I’m thankful Gena has asked me to tell you about “How to Use Essential Oils in Your Home.”
I’d like to invite you to learn the simple and practical ways essential oils can make a difference in your life – and the lives of the loved ones around you! I’ll introduce what exactly essential oils are and some ways to get them into your home. I’ll also provide an opportunity for you to receive wholesale access to Young Living.
Let’s get started!
What are Essential Oils?
Essential oils are the most powerful and volatile fluid inside plant material such as trees, flowers, herbs, resins, rinds, bushes, shrubs, and roots that have natural therapeutic properties. They are the active, living fluids that give the plant much of their unique properties – or essence – of the plant. It’s this essence, or essential oil, that provides a significant support in the health of the plant. Essential oils help the plant heal itself, repair damaged tissue, and rid itself of toxic substances and free radicals.
Here comes the cool part!
Essential oils have the same chemistry profile as our blood so our bodies know exactly what to do with them. They go to every cell in our body within 20 minutes. They reach the heart, liver, and thyroid in 3 seconds when inhaled. When applied topically, it takes 26 seconds to reach the bloodstream. They are ingrained with intelligence knowing which cells to tend and which cells to leave alone. Wow!
A pure essential oil can support, at the cellular level, our 12 body systems:
- immune
- endocrine
- digestive
- nervous system
- skeletal
- circulatory
- hormone
- respiratory .. and so on
Why Our Family Uses Essential Oils
Other than the natural support of our body systems, essential oils provide a safe, chemical- and toxic-free lifestyle. It’s a cleaner way to care for yourself, your family and loved ones!
300 Chemicals a Day
Did you know the average person applies over 300 chemicals A DAY to their bodies! It’s true! Chemicals called:
- sodium laureth sulfates
- phthalates
- formaldehyde
- talc
- mercury
- parabens
- petroleum
- lead …. …. the list goes on
When we use these products on a daily basis, the toxins build up and accumulate within our bodies – a process called “bioaccumulation.” This means the more we expose ourselves to these toxins, the harder it is for our bodies to break them down.
Not all essential oils are created equal!
Let’s talk the importance of choosing an essential oil. The oils you choose should be effective and 100% pure. Choosing an oil with a synthetic chemical makeup defeats the purpose of medicinal usage of an oil. With all of the choices available, it can be difficult to know what to look for and what you’re getting.
There are 4 different ‘Grades’ of oil: A, B, C, D
Grade A – oil is a therapeutic grade, 100% Pure single species. Unadulterated. No added synthetics or ingredients.
Grade B – Natural grade. May be labeled Organic or Therapeutic, however, may have added ingredients to enhance aroma or volume of the product.
Grade C – Perfume Grade or synthetic. Contains chemicals. Some may be inaccurately labeled as “pure” or “therapeutic”.
Grade D – Often used in hair and skin beauty products, contains minimal essential oils. Often synthetic or adulterated.
Here is why I am a loyal Young Living Essential Oils supporter
Young Living is the ONLY essential oil company in the world with a Seed to Seal guarantee . . . check it out! This guarantee ensures quality from planting a seed, to the bottle you use in your home. Their oils are totally organic. Plants are grown on virgin land uncontaminated by chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides. All pest control is done with their own oils and plants are hand-weeded. The soil is naturally nourished with enzymes, minerals, and organic mulch to produce the best plants.
What are the Main Ways to Use Essential Oils?
Topically – The main application for injuries, healing, and relaxation. Essential oils have a small molecular size and are quickly absorbed into the skin. Apply on pulse points and thin skin areas like temples, behind ears, back of neck, wrists, chest, the bottom of the feet, hands, and spine.
Aromatically –The aroma of essential oils can have a positive impact on our mood and overall well-being. Diffuse oils with an ultrasonic diffuser. It creates a microfine mist of water that will suspend essential oils in the air for several hours, creating a positive, inviting environment, also to help purify the air naturally.
Internally – Add a drop(s) of YL’s Vitality line of oils, such as these — to your favorite culinary cooking dish, marinade, beverage, etc. This method is great to help support the systems of the body and maintain optimal health!
