Lego Party for our new 10-year-old!

A few years ago I realized that it was going to be impossible to throw a big party for all our kids every year.  So, we decided they could have one at 5 years and 10 years.  We had our first 10-year party this year.  Our son loves Legos, so we planned a party around that theme.  I found a number of websites and blogs where we found a few ideas.

We started our with free play with Legos at the table.

Then we had a tower building contest with Duplos–who could build the tallest in one minute.

The night before the party we had our first big snow of the season–perfect for the guys to get outside for some snowball fights!

Next was lunch, then a Lego hunt in the basement (like an Easter Egg hunt).

Another game we played was guessing how many Legos were in a jar.

Then, opening presents and ice cream and cake!  The cake was a Lego block.  I used cupcakes for the pegs.
