New Memory Verses

For the last year or so, we’ve been working on memorizing a verse or passage from each book of the Bible.  We have made it up to Jeremiah.  Below I’ve listed the verses.  (Some books were difficult to find a verse to memorize!)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1

Honor your father and your mother.
Exodus 20:12

Love your neighbor as yourself.
Leviticus 19:18

The Lord bless you and keep you.
Numbers 6:24

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Deuteronomy 6:5

Be strong and courageous. . . for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9

I will sing to the Lord, I will sing.
Judges 5:3

Praise be to the Lord, who this day has not left you without a kinsman-redeemer.
Ruth 4:14

But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you.
I Samuel 12:24

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless.
II Samuel 22:31

O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below–you keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.
I Kings 8:23

Great is the Lord’s anger that burns against us because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book.
II Kings 22:13

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
I Chronicles 29:11

The Lord is with you when you are with him.  If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him , he will forsake you.
II Chronicles 15:2

With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord:
“He is good; his love to Israel endures forever.”
Ezra 3:11

Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10

For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish.  And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?
Esther 4:14

Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox.  What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly!  His tail sways like a cedar. . . He ranks first among the works of God.
Job 40:15-19

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;  come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.  It is he who made us, and we are his;
We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100

Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.  Proverbs 16:24

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.  For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14

See!  The winter is past; the rains are over and gone;
Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come.
Song of Songs 2:11-12

Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
Isaiah 40:31

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11

We have also memorized these:

    Gena,

What a wonderful thing for your children to be hiding God's Word in their hearts at such a young age! That's quite an impressive list. Do you review the verses periodically to keep them "fresh"?

    Have a great week!

Thank you for stopping by my blog. What I did this summer is played on the computer, played outside, went swimming, read books, spent a week with my grandpa, mowed the lawn, turned 10, visited a nursing home, got a nerf basketball hoop, got a computer game, and started playing the electric bass.

    thanks

    Josh
