Noah’s Flood
A few weeks ago I saw a cartoon in the Sunday paper. It was a father telling his son a story. A huge monster rose up out of the ocean causing a tidal wave. He said, "And that’s how the Grand Canyon was created." The next frame had the mom say, "Well that’s more believable than the Noah’s Ark theory."
I became a Christian when I was 9 years old. I have never had a problem believing everything I read in the Bible. I know it’s God’s Word and that every word of it is true. I’ve never had to struggle with believing the miracles which are recorded there.
But I know that some people do, and it keeps them from God. That is why I am so thankful for a ministry called Answers in Genesis. It is an organization full of scientists who show how science proves everything in the Bible is true. There are no contradictions. Many Christians think that certain things don’t matter. For example, they’ll say that it’s not a big deal to say that the 6 days of creation weren’t 6 regular 24-hour days, but could be long ages. They say this because so many believe that the evolutionists must know something or they wouldn’t be so sure about their position. However, this is a problem because the Bible clearly says that God created the world in 6 days. "There was an evening and a morning, the first day." If you can’t believe the first 3 verses of the Bible, you can’t believe any of it. And that is what has happened to so many people.
The current issue of Answers Magazine deals with Noah’s Flood. They discuss and explain many topics and questions such as How large was the ark?, What shape was it and how does that compare with the ships made today? Was is big enough for all the animals?, How many animals were there? Were there dinosaurs on it?, How did they store enough food for all of those animals for a whole year?, How could 8 people take care of that many animals everyday? Was the flood localized or global?, What about plate tectonics?, Where does the Ice Age fit in? And even an article on the Grand Canyon and how the flood created it!
I would love to recommend this magazine to you. If you’re a skeptic, read it and see what you think. If you have no doubts, read it so that you’ll know how to answer those who do!
and did you read the interview with Ken Ham in TOS? It was really good. What great answers to give people who inquire why we are homeschooling! Hope to see you in the next couple weeks!!
Have a great week!
Jennifer
Thanks for the great recommendation of the magazine. I am seeing if we have the money for it. See you Thursday eve!
