From House to Home {Link Party}: Valentine’s Pitcher

From House to Home Link Party

I’m so excited to be starting this new link party today! As I mentioned earlier, the inspiration came from a story my daughter wrote where she mentioned that the ladies made their houses into homes. I know that as women in all walks of life we love to do that. It’s a God-given desire. We focus it in different ways, though.  Personally, I’m not very good at decorating.  I love to craft/sew/quilt, but not cook!  I’m good at organizing and would do a better job of it if I had more time (and less people to mess it up :)  ).  I also love lesson-planning and teaching my kids.  What are your joys in homemaking?  Your struggles?  Please share with us!

Here’s my little project for this week (inspired by this pin.) It took less than 10 minutes to do!  I found the white pitcher in a kitchen cabinet I was cleaning out last week and got the inspiration.  Looking in 1 Corinthians 13 (the Love chapter of the Bible) I used colored Sharpies to write different things on the pitcher.

Valentine's Pitcher final

Love is. . . patient, kind, never fails, always hopes, not easily angered, does not boast, does not envy .  I found the silk flowers at Joann’s  (Joann Fabrics), and now my mantel looks a little more festive for Valentine’s Day!

Time to link up!  Only 2 rules:

1.  Link up family-friendly posts about making your house to a home: homemaking, parenting, homeschooling, marriage, loving God!

2.  Link back to my site with the button below or a text link.  Thanks!

  1. I hope this is the sort of thing you are looking for…I love link parties! While “tinkering” is not exactly homemaking or decorating, learning to fix and care for the things we own definitely falls under being good stewards of what we have. And it is a whole lot of fun as well!
