Keeping track of schoolwork
Below I have listed my updated version of our Daily Homeschooling Chart. The formatting didn’t show that’s it’s actually in table style, where I can put a check mark in the box if we’ve done it that day. I write the date at the top, and I include Monday through Saturday. It’s the easiest way I have found to keep a record of our schoolwork. I do it for several reasons–so I can see that I really have accomplished something (some days I’m surprised!), in case we would ever need it for "proof", and for a portfolio of the school year for each child (ages Kinder and up). Thankfully our state doesn’t require us to do this; I just do it for ourselves. I tape it up in my kitchen right by the pens, so I can very quickly check something off when we do it. Then at the end of each week I stick the sheet in a folder until I choose to later organize everything. I’ve been working on my oldest child’s Kindergarten portfolio and was amazed at all he "studied" last year!
