Make a Versatile Grammar Guide with the WriteShop Fold-N-Go Grammar Pack
This year four of my kids, in grades 4th-9th grade, have writing instruction at our homeschool co-op. I’m so excited to have the additional help in teaching this subject, but it also means that I don’t have control over what curriculum they’ll be using. I trust the teachers, though, and know what they do will be great. One thing I’m excited about is that the WriteShop Fold-N-Go Grammar Pack is so versatile it can be used with ANY writing curriculum!
Disclosure: I received a free Fold-N-Go Grammar Pack in order to effectively and honestly review it here. This post also contains affiliate links.
What is a WriteShop Fold-N-Go Grammar Pack?
The WriteShop Fold-N-Go Grammar Pack is a packet of colored papers already printed that can be made into booklets (see below) to teach various grammar topics. They can be used alongside the WriteShop writing curriculum (Level 1 is specifically for use with WriteShop Junior Book D) or as a stand-alone grammar tool, which is how we’re going to use it. We’ll work at our own pace throughout this entire school year, but another option is to make one Fold-N-G0 every week for 10 weeks.
The booklets can be put into a file folder so it can be a handy reference tool. They can also be put into notebooks.
The whole pack gives you enough pages to make ten booklets of 6 pages each.
Some pages also include “Your Turn!” where the kids fill in the answers. An Answer Key is included as well.
Why use a WriteShop Fold-N-Go Grammar Pack?
Why would you want to use a WriteShop Fold-N-Go Grammar Pack? What’s the purpose of it? There are several reasons. You can use it to systematically teach grammar topics and make sure they don’t miss any, but you can also use it as a reference guide to go back to anytime you’re writing something. We’ll use it mostly for the latter, but we’ll start out by reading through them all so that the kids and I know exactly what’s in there.
What ages are the 3 Levels for?
There are 3 levels of the WriteShop Fold-N-Go Grammar Pack. The pictures in this entire post are from Level 1.
If you were to use the Fold-N-Go Packs alongside the WriteShop curriculum, Level 1 is for WriteShop Junior Book D (Grades 3-5), Level 2 is for WriteShop Junior Book E (Grades 4-6), and Level 3 is for WriteShop Junior Book F (Grades 5-7). The nice thing, though, is that these handy reference guides can even be used for older kids who need instruction or extra reminders.
What else is included in a WriteShop Fold-N-Go Grammar Pack?
Full instructions on how to put the packs together are included. Also, the extra paper that is cut away isn’t all trash. They have used the extra paper to create bookmarks! I like the suggestions of laminating them and putting them in a jar to pull out to reference. Or, paste them into a file folder as well.
Here are examples of some of the bookmarks:
The Fold-N-Go Grammar packs are available in print and ebook versions.

Here’s to a great school year!!
Write Shop I and II look great.
I think WriteShop I & II look really good for my teen.
This would be perfect to go along with my son’s writing curriculum.
It’s wonderful, I’d love to have it in our homeschool!
Would it make sense to buy all three levels for an older child? or does the content overlap and everything is covered once you get to level three?
Here is the answer from Kim Kautzer, founder of WriteShop:
