Ten things to do from ages 10-12

As the kids grow and move into the later “knowledge” level, more academic work is added.  See the book Teaching the Trivium by the Bluedorns for more details.  We’ll be starting this when my oldest reaches 5th grade.

1.  Family Worship (including memorization)

2.  Literature & Reading Aloud– Mom/Dad continue to read aloud 2 hours daily, memorization and oral narration, student reads good literature, oral interpretation (like speech)

3.  History

4.  Composition–copywork, dicatation, simple outlining

5.  Spelling & English Grammar

6.  Latin & Greek

7.  Early Logic

8.  Arithmetic

9. Science

10.  Art & Music
