Winter Songs
We have a tradition of singing with our kids before bedtime every evening. It has transformed into a time of familiarizing our children with great hymns and praise songs we want them to know. Below is a list of what we’re singing now.
Winter
Sunday
Because He Lives
God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus;
He came to love, heal, and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives.
Because He lives I can face tomorrow;
Because He lives all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living just because He lives.
Jesus, Name Above All Names & Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus
Jesus, Name above all names,
Wonderful Savior, Glorious Lord,
Emmanuel, God is with us,
Blessed Redeemer, Living Word.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
Monday
Amazing Grace
Amazing grace how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
Father, I Adore You
Father, I adore you.
I lay my life before You
How I love You.

Tuesday
Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us
Savior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need Thy tender care;
In Thy pleasant pastures feed us, for our use Thy folds prepare.
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.
Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus! Thou hast bought us, Thine we are.
Shout to the Lord
My Jesus, my Savior, Lord, there is none like You.
All of my days, I want to praise the wonders of Your mighty love.
My Comfort, my Shelter, Tower of refuge and strength,
Let every breath, all that I am never cease to worship You.
Shout to the Lord all the earth let us sing.
Power and majesty, praise to the King.
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
At the sound of your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand
Nothing compares to the promise I have in You.
Wednesday
Holy, Holy, Holy
Holy, holy, holy! lord God almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty
God in three persons, blessed trinity!
Jesus, Holy and Anointed One
Jesus, Jesus, Holy and anointed One, Jesus
Jesus, Jesus, Risen and exalted One, Jesus
Your name is like honey on my lips,
Your Spirit like water to my soul,
Your word is a lamp unto my feet,
Jesus I love You, I love You
Thursday
Blessed Assurance
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of his Spirit, washed in his blood.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
Jesus Loves Me
Jesus loves me! This I know, For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong, They are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.
Friday
Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing
Come, thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of thy redeeming love.
God is So Good
God is so good, God is so good,
God is so good, He’s so good to me!
He cares for me, He cares for me,
He cares for me, He’s so good to me!
I love Him so, I love Him so,
I love Him so, He’s so good to me!
I praise His Name, I praise His Name,
I praise His Name, He’s so good to me!
Saturday
I’ll Fly Away
Some glad morning when this life is o’er, I’ll fly away;
To a home on God’s celestial shore, I’ll fly away.
I’ll fly away, Oh Glory I’ll fly away;
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by, I’ll fly away.
Jesus Loves the Little Children
Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world
Black and yellow, red and white
They’re all precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world
