2019-2020 Homeschool Curriculum Choices for 6 Kids, 2nd – 10th Grades
I’m ready for our 14th year of homeschooling to start at the end of August, 2019! My two oldest sons are in college this year, but I still have 6 at home. Have fun exploring our 2019-2020 homeschool curriculum choices for 2nd – 10th grades.
Background about our Homeschool Curriculum and Co-op
Just to give you a little more background before reading all that we use:
We attend a homeschool co-op all day on Wednesdays. Its main focus is to provide activities for the younger kids and discussion groups for the older kids based on the Tapestry of Grace history and literature curriculum. This year we are in Year 1, the Ancient Times (creation through fall of Rome).
Much of our curriculum choices this year is dictated by what we’re doing at our co-op. The kids will meet on Wednesdays, but we’ll do the vast majority of the work at home in science, Latin/Spanish, and writing, in addition to history and literature. Some extra classes are provided there as well, such as P.E., music, SAT writing class, consumer ed/financial literacy, government, and newspaper/yearbook club.
What I Teach at Our Homeschool Co-op
This year I’m really excited about my teaching responsibilities. I’m teaching preschool music and movement class, which I’ve done every single year since I had my first child! This will be my 6th year teaching it at our co-op. I’m teaching Song School Latin 2; last year I taught Song School Latin 1. It’s a very fun introduction to Latin for K-3rd grades. The only thing I don’t like about it is their pronunciation. They really should be more consistent and pronounce it like Spanish (not English), since most kids will be heading over to learn Spanish next.
The third class I’m teaching is Tapestry of Grace rhetoric literature for 10th-12th grades. I’ll share all the books we’ll be reading at the end of the curriculum shares.
Group Morning Time
Except for my middle school and high school students, the kids don’t do every subject every day. I have group morning time with my elementary kids where we work on the following subjects together as a group (but, again, not always every subject every day): Bible, literature, history, read-alouds, science, grammar, economics, and music appreciation.
Check this post if you’re looking for ideas for a homeschool morning basket.

Homeschool Verses to Print:
For Mom I chose James 1:19-20 ” Be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger, for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” Can you take a guess why I picked that verse for myself? 🙂
And for the kids, I chose Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
You can download nice PDF files of both of these printables to put up in your home!

Homeschool Gift Certificate Giveaway:
Update: The giveaway is completed.
A new homeschool year is right around the corner!
Many homeschool moms are busy preparing and finalizing curriculum choices for the upcoming school year. And some homeschoolers are trucking on through the summer months as one school year flows into the next. Whatever camp you are in, you’re bound to need new homeschool curriculum, and winning a gift card to a major online homeschool retailer would surely help you check some things off of your curriculum wish list.
I’m teaming up with some other great homeschool bloggers to bring you a HUGE gift card giveaway to Rainbow Resource Center. We will be blessing TWO homeschool families with a $250 for you to use on curriculum, books, games, puzzles, or whatever educational supplies you might need!
We know homeschooling can put a financial strain on families – whether it’s from living on one-income or buying curriculum for multiple children – the financial aspect of it can be stressful. Our hope is that we can bless a couple of homeschool families (although we wish we could bless many more) so they can buy the curriculum and supplies they need.
To enter for your chance to win, simply use the Rafflecopter form below to enter. Now I know that is quite a few entries for you, but each of these bloggers has generously chipped in their own money to make this giveaway possible, so I hope you will take the time to do all of the entries. And hey, the more entries you do, the better your odds are of winning!
Giveaway ends July 24, 2019 at 11:59pm ET. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be a resident of U.S. or Canada to enter. Selected winners will have 48 hours to respond to email notification to claim their prizes or another winner will be drawn. By entering this giveaway, you agree to be added to the email lists of the participating bloggers (see the Terms & Conditions on the Rafflecopter form for the complete list).

What an amazing giveaway. It will be a huge blessing for the winners!
We are using Apologia’s new General Science this year too. I’m using it for my 6th grader. Hoping it’s not too much! Would love to win the giveaway 🙂
Thanks for hosting this giveaway! We love using Rainbow Resource for our schooling needs, as I am sure many others do too!
Thank you for sharing your curriculum choices for next year. The Bible verse you selected for yourself is very appropriate for me as well! I’d love to hear later how the IEW ancient history writing course goes.
I’m really excited about the IEW ancient history writing as well. I love having the kids learn the same thing in different subject areas.
That’s a full load! Thanks for sharing!
Yes, totally a full load! I always start out with more than we actually end up doing because we run out of time. But these are my goals!

I like seeing others curriculum choices but it just gives green-eyed-monster syndrome! It’s become easier to decide what we need to do!
I sure understand that!

This is a fantastic giveaway. So helpful and useful. Thank you
Marilyn
You’re very welcome. I know a lot of homeschoolers are excited about it!

We hope your 10th grader enjoys Exploring Government!
Thanks, John! I’m sure she will. We already used it with my second son who graduated this year. Such a great book and curriculum!
Blessings,
Gena
