Ceramic Gingerbread Ornament Tutorial
Ceramic Gingerbread Ornament Supplies
- Ceramic gingerbread ornament (pictured is from Hobby Lobby here or here is a version I found on Amazon)
- Brown acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- White puffy paint
- Wiggly eyes
- Mini buttons
- Mini bows
- Glue
- Scissors
- Ribbon or string
Ceramic Gingerbread Ornament Instructions
- Paint the entire gingerbread ceramic ornament brown with the acrylic paint. Allow to dry and paint the back, being sure to cover the sides. Allow to dry again and repeat with a second coat of paint.
- Using the white puffy paint, create wiggly lines at ends of hands and feet.
- Using glue of your choice, glue on the eyes, bows, and buttons.
- Using the white puffy paint, create the mouth.
- String ribbon through the hole, and you’re done!

- Paper mache gingerbread ornament
- White baby rickrack
- White paint pen
- Buttons
- Mini bows
- Glue
- Scissors
Paper Mache Gingerbread Man Tutorial Instructions
- Cut the baby rick rack to match the width of the arms and legs. Glue the rick rack in place.
- Draw a face on the gingerbread man using the white paint pen.
- Attach bow and buttons using glue.
- Allow the ornament to dry completely.

- Clear, plastic disc ornaments
- Brown acrylic paint
- Cricut machine
- Permanent vinyl
- Weeding tool
- Transfer tape
- Scissors
- Template (download here)
- Funnel
- Plastic or paper cup, for excess paint
Gingerbread Man Disc Ornament Tutorial Instructions
To fill with paint:
- Remove the tops from the ornaments.
- Pour a small amount of paint into the ornament and slowly swirl around until the inside is coated.
- Remove the excess paint by pouring it into a cup.
- Let the ornament rest on its side or upside down overnight to dry completely.
- Once the paint is dry, replace the cap.
To decorate with template:
- Open the Cricut Design Studio and create a new project.
- Upload the template to the Cricut Design Studio.
- Select to remove the background of the image (if needed) and save as a cut file.
- Insert the image into your project and select your desired print color to help organize the cuts.
- If all of the details of your ornament will be the same color, click and drag to select the elements for the ornament and select to weld the items together.
- Select the image and size to match the dimensions of the ornament.
- Cut the images from vinyl.
- Weed the excess vinyl away and then use transfer tape to move the designs to the ornament. Press firmly or swipe over the transfer tape with a scraper to make sure the vinyl adheres to the ornament. Pull the transfer tape away.
